What is PayPal?

PayPal is a financial intermediary for online credit card and bank card transactions.

How Does PayPal Work?

A website, like SavedByHisBlood.com establishes a merchant account with PayPal. That website can then accept payments from visitors wanting to use their credit card, bank card or their PayPal account. PayPal processes the transaction securely.

Do I need a PayPal account to give to SavedByHisBlood.com?

No. When giving to SavedByHisBlood.com, you can use your credit card or bank card or your PayPal account if you have one.

Benefits of a PayPal account:

Individuals with a PayPal account never expose their bank card or credit card information to PayPal merchants they make payments to. PayPal accounts are free for individuals.

Merchants with a PayPal account don't have to expose themselves to the liability of having customer credit card or bank card information in their computer systems. Therefore they do not have to be concerned with the new PCI DDS compliance.

With the increasing frequency of cases of lost or stolen credit card and bank card information, having a PayPal account provides benefits for individuals and merchants wanting to do business online.

Problems With PayPal Transactions

PROBLEM #1

I do *not* have a PayPal account. When I click "Continue" so that I can enter my Credit/Debit card information, it keeps giving me the same page over and over and I can not get to the page where I enter my credit/debit card information. What am I doing wrong?

After you click the "Make A Donation" button on SavedByHisBlood.Com, you are taken to a PayPal page.

You must then:
1. enter an amount greater than $0.00 in Unit Price
2. click the Update Totals button
3. click the Continue text link underlined in blue

After doing 1, 2, and 3, you will then be taken to the page where you can enter your credit/debit card information.

PROBLEM #2

Error: Session contains invalid data

This error means that some piece or pieces of information you input are not in the fomat required by PayPal.

A. Credit Card number - should be entered as a string of numbers without any spaces or dashes.

B. Name, address and phone number information - this information needs to be entered exactly as shown on your credit/debit card statement you receive each month. If you have a middle initial on your credit or debit card, enter it in the first name blank after your first name and a space.

PROBLEM #3

Error: Session Timed Out

This error means that you waited too long to input the information on the page and then click the "Review Order and Continue button. If you start over at SavedByHisBlood.Com and enter the information and click the Review Order and Continue button without a long delay, the transaction will complete successfully.
